The test is performed from a sample of blood, by which it evaluates the enzymatic activity of Diamino Oxidase (DAO).
The results allow to know if the levels of this enzyme are normal or reduced.
In case of deficit may be established nutritional strategies specific to decrease the frequency and intensity of migraine headaches, or other symptoms associated to the accumulation of histamine.
Although the deficit of DAO can't be prevented, adjust the diet and avoid foods high in histamine it allows you to reduce the associated symptoms, including migraines, bloating, constipation or diarrhea.
