PURPOSE

The Test of Graham is intended to diagnose the enterobiasis or threadworm infection (parasitic infection is very frequent, mainly in children). PROCEDURE

To prepare:

In the morning, before the patient gets up and has not made any deposition:

  • Place a piece of tape clear contact paper on one of the ends of the depressor, face sticker to the outside.
  • Separate the buttocks of the patient, and press the adhesive tape to both sides of the anus, so that the eggs of the parasite to remain attached to the face sticker tape.
  • Place the tape on a slide with face sticker to the glass, trying to leave it more smooth and stretched as possible, while avoiding bubbles of air and wrinkles.
  • Enter the slide in an envelope, identify by name and keep refrigerated (in a fridge) until shipment to the laboratory.
